COVID-19 has affected all our lives negatively and it is changing how we live.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>We already had an economic crisis in March 2020 and some professionals forecast worse. I wanted take a look at 2020 for container volume (TEUs) for five major ports in the U.S. and compare volume to 2019.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Georgia Ports<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14932\" data-cfsrc=\"https:\/\/073bddbe7aa062defd37fde3-cwzdvdpfea.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/georgia-port-volume-2020.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"588\" height=\"296\"   style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14932\" src=\"https:\/\/073bddbe7aa062defd37fde3-cwzdvdpfea.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/georgia-port-volume-2020.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"588\" height=\"296\"   \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Georgia ports saw a decline in both imports and exports compared to 2019 in the first five months of 2020. After March, numbers look promising for the second half of 2020. We can also see the trade imbalance by looking at empty containers\u2019 export numbers.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Port of New York\/New Jersey<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14936\" data-cfsrc=\"https:\/\/073bddbe7aa062defd37fde3-cwzdvdpfea.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/new-york-new-jersey-port-container-volume-2020.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"274\"   style=\"display:none;visibility:hidden;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14936\" src=\"https:\/\/073bddbe7aa062defd37fde3-cwzdvdpfea.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/new-york-new-jersey-port-container-volume-2020.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"274\"   \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Finally, the Port of New York\/New Jersey saw the peak decline in May compared to 2019.
